The 2009 Rochester team competing in the adidas Brogden Cup International Lacrosse Competition in Orlando, Florida has been selected through a tryout camp in Rochester, New York. The team qualified to play for the Brogden Cup by winning the adidas National Lacrosse Classic championship in Germantown, Maryland July 2009 by a combined 53 goals. Read article

The adidas National Lacrosse Classic is open to high school underclassmen players entering grades 10, 11 and 12. High school coaches conduct the regional tryout and player selection process. Twenty teams representing 8 regions in the United States competed for the championship to determine the best region of high school lacrosse players in the country.Team Rochester had an impressive win in the championship game, defeating Team Washington DC by a margin of 3 goals with a final score of 5-2.

Team Rochester (USA) features 18 players that are committed to attend and play lacrosse at NCAA DI schools next fall.

Players of Interest.    Team Rochester features talented underclassmen players that are recognized for the accomplishments on and off of the athletic field.  Hill Academy midfielder Randy Staats recorded the most points in the 2009 adidas National Lacrosse Classic. Staats, from Ohsweken, Ontario is also a member of Six Nations and the Iroquois Nationals U-19 roster. Attackman, Brendan Saylor, bound for the University of Maryland is an Honor Roll student at Fairport High School, US Lacrosse All-American, 1st Team All-County, All Tournament Team and 2009 adidas High School All-America. NCAA Men's Division One UMBC bound, Deven Alves, attackman at Canadaigua is a 2008 Scholar Athlete, 2008-2009 High Honor Roll, 2009 MVP Section V All Tournament Team, 2009 New York State Champion, 2009 Team Leading Goal Scorer, 2009 adidas High School All-America.

Team Rochester has some of the top college recruits in the nation. Deven Alves-UMBC, Justin McLiverty-Robert Morris, Adam Trombley-Ohio State, Brendan Saylor-Maryland, Joe Dupra-Marist, Pete Noto-Rutgers and Gary Davies-Fairfield.
